Emergency Evacuation Chair

This course is designed to comply with Duty of Care regulations for staff, visitor's and customers or office or retail outlets that have or are situated on multi-floor levels.

When would you need an evacuation chair?

The content of this course provides basic life saving first aid and workplace health and safety regulations, covering the following:

  • Fire/­Explosion
  • Terrorist bomb threat
  • Lift failure/­service
  • Casualty removal

Who may need to be evacuated?

  • Mobility impaired
  • Visually impaired
  • Pregnant
  • Asthmatic
  • Elderly
  • Hearing impaired
  • Heart condition
  • lnfants
  • lntoxicated

  • The effect of leverage on the handler
  • The pros and cons of a team handling
  • Effective pushing technique
  • Laws of leverage

Candidates must be physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the course outline Candidates will be required to complete a questionnaire at the beginning of the session. People attending our workplace Emergency Evacuation Chair courses are trained and assessed by one expert trainer/­assessor whilst the course is progressing.­  Assessment will be through observation along with some written exercises. Whilst these written elements are straigh­tforward, candidates need a basic command of English. (defined as Level 2).
