The UK Chamber of Shipping Annual Gala Dinner
Representatives from Bachmann Group are excitedly preparing to attend the Annual Gala Dinner of the UK Chamber of Shipping, at which they will be hosting a table. Designed to celebrate the most recent achievements of the organisation, the prestigious black-tie event also provides a unique opportunity for people from across the maritime industries to meet, network and share information.
The UK Chamber of Shipping can trace its roots back to 1878 and exists to fulfil its stated mission of 'promoting UK shipping around the world'. As an active and highly-regarded principal member of the International Chamber of Shipping, the organisation works closely with governments all over the world in order to influence the development and implementation of crucial policies that affect maritime affairs.

The chamber is the recognised voice of the shipping industry and, working together with its members, helps to 'facilitate the sharing of good practice' and ensures that the industry is prepared to face future challenges.
The chamber's Annual Gala Dinner is one of the most important and highly-anticipated events on the busy shipping calendar. In 2023, the exclusive event was attended by well over 800 guests and that number is set to be even higher this year. Taking place on the evening of Monday the 5th of February, the venue for the Annual Gala Dinner 2024 has been confirmed as JW Marriott Grosvenor House, which is located on Park Lane in London. Guests will be treated to a gourmet three-course dinner which will be accompanied with a well-deserved bottle of wine (or two!).
The event is to be sponsored by several high-profile organisations, including Northern Marine, Denholm, ABS, Lloyd's Register and MLA college. Each year, the chamber selects a charity to benefit from the Annual Gala Dinner; for 2024, this charity is confirmed to be The Sailor's Society. Commenting on this selection, the UK Chamber of Shipping's President Graham Westgarth said: "This wonderful charity has been supporting merchant seafarers for more than 200 years and I look forward to the shipping community coming together in February to raise some well-deserved funds to help them continue their fantastic work."
