Bachmann Marine & Aviation Services: Teamwork Makes the Dream Work!
With a heritage dating back almost 50 years back to 1974, Bachmann Group is today a recognised leader in the provision of a comprehensive and authoritative array of services to the marine, aviation and offshore sectors. This achievement would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our 50+ team members.
In this edition of our blog, we introduce you to some of our senior staff who, working in close collaboration with their respective teams, consistently deliver exceptional service to our diverse and ever-growing portfolio of clients.
Nick Saul, Chief Executive & Owner
After gaining a wealth of practical experience during his seven years as a Navigating Officer working on bulk carriers and tankers, Nick enrolled at Cardiff University to study and subsequently receive a degree in Maritime Commerce. Following this, he worked for various ferry companies in Spain, Belgium and Ireland before moving into the prestigious 5-star cruise ship sector.
After a brief return to the ferry industry, Nick became the CEO of Bachmann Group in 2008. Just five years later, he bought the operation from founder Peter Bachmann. Nick is a qualified DPA and Company Security Officer and Lead Auditor, as well as an Associate Fellow of the Nautical Institute and member of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
Corrina McCarthy, Payroll Manager
Immediately after her full-time education was completed, Corrina came to work with Bachmann Group in our administration department and has been with us ever since; her career at Bachmann Group spans across two decades, making her one of our longest-serving staff members. Displaying impressive multi-tasking skills, Corrina progressed swiftly, resulting in a string of promotions.
Since 2018, Corrina has been our Payroll Manager, overseeing all of our payroll clients and directing her team of Personnel Administrators to consistently ensure sure that more than 20,000 crew members receive the best support. Alongside our HR and Operations Director Liz Powell (who featured prominently in the previous edition of our blog), Corinna has been a major contributor to the growth and subsequent success of Multiwage Ltd.
Sinead Ellis, Accounts and Operations Manager
After achieving a BA (Hons) in Accounting & Finance at the University of Dundee, Sinead qualified as a Chartered Accountant with the prestigious Ernst & Young. She then worked as a Financial Accountant for a Sydney-based litigation funder before joining the Bachmann group team in 2021. She draws upon her extensive experience every day in her work, being responsible for numerous operations within our dedicated finance team.
