Bachmann Training Improves Safety & Knowledge

Among the many and varied services offered by Bachmann Group is a high-quality selection of training courses. It is obviously essential that anyone working on a sailing vessel has a full, certified knowledge of their relevant field of work and we are pleased to deliver this education.

A wide range of courses is planned and delivered by our expert teams and we specialise in short, sharp electrical upskilling. Depending on individual client requirements, we also often provide highly-focused one-to-one training. January and February of this year were particularly busy months for our training teams, with a large number of courses being successfully delivered. These included:

  • PAT testing training to SWL and the Ocean Youth Trust. This is an essential skill which allows for the testing of electrical appliances for faults and thus preventing any possible accidents or injuries. Any appliance that fails a PAT test must be either removed from use, repaired or replaced.
  • Electrical fault-finding training to Yacht Captains. Problems with electrical equipment and fittings are easily spotted when the device fails to work properly but finding the source of the fault is not always so simple. This course shows participants how to safely, quickly and effectively find faults in order that they may be swiftly addressed.
  • Basic electrical safety training to Thames Clippers and Condor Ferries. This is one of our most popular courses and covers a wide range of aspects relating to electrical safety on board vessels. The course is EAL accredited and is also known as 'lock out & tag out'.

Further training courses have been requested by several clients, including an electrical fault-finding course jointly designed by Bachmann Training and Thames Clippers; this course will be delivered from the end of this month. Nick Saul, CEO of Bachmann Group, welcomed the complete success rate, saying that "it was all good news".

Bachmann Training is an EAL Training centre. Details of 1 & 2 day Electrical upskilling courses can be obtained from Keith Austin at keith.austin@bachmanngroup.com
