Marine Operative

We are looking for a permanent full time Marine Operative to join our Bachmann Ports team based at the Port of Tilbury.
The position is a two week on, two week off rotation and includes on site accommodation during your shift.
You will join a skilled team working and controlling harbour operations. The department is responsible for the continuous, daily safe movement and berthing of vessels within the port, berth preparation and marine structure maintenance, in accordance with the ports advertised policies and procedures as required by the Port Marine Safety Code.
Together with the ports Technical Services, the department also manages the collection, consolidation and recycling of ship and port generated waste products and other port services.
The Port of Tilbury is expanding rapidly and the role will encompass the operation of the original locked port as well as Tilbury 2, the new ro/ro facility on the Thames
You must be physically fit, and the position would suit someone with a background in a marine environment, previously as an AB, EDH or perhaps a former rating in the Navy / MOD.
A CoC or MOD (Navy) qualification or other formal marine qualification would be preferred but is not essential.
Previous experience working with/on sea going vessels or within a similar marine environment would be preferred as would experience of boat handling.
