Chief Cook (Ferry)

Our client is actively seeking a Chief Cook.

This is a permanent position, to sail within the Western Isles of Scotland.

Supporting the On-Board Services Manager providing a comprehensive catering service to both passengers and crew that enables the Company to achieve its customer and business objectives.

Leading and direct the Galley crew to ensure the provision of a safe, high quality, cost effective and responsive service to passengers and crew. Manage the efficient and cost-effective operations of the galley.

Shift pattern - 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off.

Essential Criteria

  • STCW 2010 Basic Elements:
    • Personal Survival Techniques
    • Personal Safety & Social Respon­sibi­lities
    • Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting
    • Elementary First Aid
  • Valid ENG1 Medical Certificate (no restrictions)
  • Food Safety Level 2
  • Security Awareness
  • Cooks Certificate Part 1 & Part 2 (or comparable)
  • 1 year sea time as 2nd Cook

Desirable Criteria

  • REHIS Intermediate Food Hygiene certificate (or comparable)
  • Supervisory experience gained

Crowd Management and Crisis Management are also required.
