Secret Yachting Paradise: The Mediterranean Edition

With its gorgeously-clear waters and no shortage of sunshine, it's little wonder that the Mediterranean is one of the most popular destinations for yacht owners. As we continue with our 'Secret Paradise' series of blog articles, we take a closer look at this beautiful part of the world and reveal the route less travelled with three hidden gems...

Navagio Beach, Greece

Though located on the island of Zakynthos and therefore most definitely Greek, Navagio Beach feels much more like a slice of classic Italy. A truly spectacular bay of sparkling, richly-turquoise water is surrounded by dramatic, majestic white limestone cliffs and the beach is only accessible by boat. One of the most visually-exciting landmarks here is a wrecked vessel which sits elegantly on the white sands, leading many people to dub this idyllic retreat 'Shipwreck Beach'.

Mljet, Croatia

The Croatian coastline is known for its stark, rocky beauty but Mljet stands out for its lush green landscape. Located in one of the country's protected National Parks, Mljet is literally the stuff of legend: the Greek god Odysseus is said to have been captivated by its magical appearance. Be sure to visit the perfectly-preserved Benedictine monastery and, if you feel like exploring, hire a bicycle and discover the miles of winding trails that crisscross between lakes.

Banyuls, France

Close to the Côte Vermeille, Banyuls is famous for its deliciously-sweet wines and pebbled beaches. Here you will also find one of the most interesting, absorbing and unique experiences in the world: between Banyuls and Cerbère lies a protected marine area featuring a hidden underwater trail!
